Yeah, we game. 😎
As a company, gaming is one of our favorite ways to unwind, hang out, and connect with people.
We asked Amplers to share their favorite games, genres, history, and gaming dreams – and these are the results. So if you’ve ever had a meeting with one of us and wondered, “Do they game?” This is the blog where you can find out.
“I’ve been very active in the Factorio community, helping debug blueprints and creating mods to optimize factory designs.”
Strategy
PC
Factorio is my favorite game because it combines resource management with automation in a way that puts you in control of everything. You crash on a planet and have to escape by automating increasingly complex tasks, all while avoiding hostile alien life. I’ve been very active in the Factorio community, helping debug blueprints and creating mods to optimize factory designs. The mix of problem-solving, collaboration, and the similarities between factory design and software development really appeal to me—it’s like coding but in a game!
Rome Total War / Rome Total War Remastered is the game I’ve played the most, and honestly, it’s because I’m obsessed with Roman culture and history. I know way too much about the creation & fall of the holy roman empire. My best friend and I have been playing it since 3rd grade, so it's become a comfort game that’s packed with good memories. But beyond that, I love the strategic depth, managing colonies & conflicts.
according to steam 687 hours recorded for Factorio. I'm just glad you didnt ask for my most played game time!
Dead space 2 & 3 remastered versions. I really enjoyed the first game, which they remastered beautifully. I'm ready to relive dead space 2 & 3 now! This is another series I come back to & play over & over. I'm also really good at those games. And they’re notably the only 3 games I have unlocked 100% of all achievements on.
Issac Clarke
Depends on the game / who would want to play with me.
Super Mario 64. I loved Mario & I really enjoyed the number of challenges & fighting bowser.
Factorio 2.0.0 Space Age DLC comes out October 21 I definitely have not been counting down the days or have the date marked on my calendar.
Some fun facts about my gaming history.
I own 244 games, some of those games I have multiple copies of on multiple platforms. My most played game of all time is 1434 hours for Rome Total War / Rome Total War: Remastered. which sounds crazy but less crazy when you take into account I have been playing it since I was 9 years old. Some other genres I really enjoy playing would be survival horror, real time strategy, simulators.
“I suddenly started doing well in English class, which I don't think would have happened if it had not been for my video games back then.”
Simulation
PS5, Laptop
iRacing - I'm not good at it, but love the ability to race on tracks and in cars that I otherwise wouldn't have the chance to. Since I don't have the space to have a dedicated sim-racing setup, I don't play this as much as I'd like, as setting it up takes a little time.
Football Manager; I'm a massive football (soccer) fan and love management style games. Tinkering with tactics and creating storylines is what I tend to look for in games. With this game - dubbed "spreadsheet simulator" by many I scratch the football and management/strategy itch. (Also Diablo 4)
Next question please.
A proper high quality VR MMORPG. This will likely come with the same space restrictions as the racing setup I mentioned above.
Kirby
Depends on my mood. Mostly solo when I want to relax after work and multiplayer on the weekends.
Priston Tale (2001) comes to mind. This game blew my mind at the time. It launched towards the end of elementary school, when I was 12 years old, and it was the first real MMORPG that we played. At school, we would talk about the game. As soon as class was over we would all run home and log on to continue talking in the game. It was majestic. Before that Rollercoaster Tycoon and the FA Premier League Football Manager 99
Football Manager 2025 just got delayed, so honestly not really anything. But that's okay since I have a ton of games that I still have to catch up on. This is good news for my wallet.
Gaming contributed a lot to me learning English when I was 10 years old or so. I remember playing Premier League Football Manager 99 and reading through news articles in game, not knowing what on earth was going on. Some games did not have a proper Dutch translation available, so I'd be sat at the computer with an English-Dutch dictionary, trying to play my way through seasons. Once we started getting online chat with other people, this continued as I now spoke English on a daily basis. I suddenly started doing well in English class, which I don't think would have happened if it had not been for my video games back then.
Also, gaming works way better for me than watching TV after a day of work. Depending on the type of game, gaming allows me to find the balance of requiring just enough focus to forget my worries of the day and not too much required focus that I can't unwind properly.

“I think it's a lot of ‘gamers’ dream to make their own game, the game that perfectly scratches their itch.”
Massive multiplayer
PC
Guild Wars, not only was it one of my early experiences with MMO's, but it also has one of the more unique styles of MMO where a major portion of the game was instanced and you were able to do a lot of very unique character builds which gave if good enough enabled you do play the hardest content in the game solo. I've always found that giving that capability to the player and offering them reward for high skill expression to be a very good thing.
The game I play the most is just whatever I am into at the moment. Right now that's Throne and Liberty.
I think League of Legends still takes the cake on this one, easily 8,000 hours
The game I am going to make. I think it's a lot of "gamers" dream to make their own game, the game that perfectly scratches their itch. It has long been a desire of mine and almost a profession to make video games.
Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy franchise.
With people
Pokemon Gold, this is the game that I most fondly remember from playing games as a kid and I played pokemon up to the most current generation. It's a fun and simple game with some hidden complexities that add a nice bit of depth you wouldn't expect. The actual monsters themselves are just a fun range of cute and cool which adds additional fun and expression.
Ashes of Creation and Riot Game's MMO are the two games I am looking forward to, but who knows when those will actually release.
I have made a lot of close friends that I still have never met to this day online and also maintain long distance friendships with people I grew up with through playing games and discord.
“[Celeste] is my comfort game; I play it when I want to relax.”

Celeste. It's my comfort game; I play it when I want to relax.
Probably around 300 hours over the course of about 4 years
I don't have a ton of time to play games anymore, and I'm pretty satisfied with the current games I play.
Madeline
A bit of both
My Dad introduced me to Minecraft at about 7 years old, and I loved it for the thing you could create with modding and redstone.
It's not a new game, but I'm looking forward to the Factorio expansion DLC coming soon.
“I did used to set people on fire in the Sims. Sometimes, I still do.”
RPG, Cozy
Switch
Stardew Valley. I love the lore behind the game. The more you play, the more disturbing stuff you'll find out about the history of the valley and its residents.
over 100 hours on stardew surely
A game where absolutely no battles happen and you have to solve confrontations with enemies by talking to them
I LOVE Shino from animal crossing

The Harry Potter games on Gameboy. There was one level in the chamber of secrets game that took me so long to beat, and the satisfaction when I finally did.... oh boy. I would love to relive that high.
Tales of the Shire! I have always wanted to live as a hobbit.
I wrote this quiz, and I did used to set people on fire in the Sims. Sometimes, I still do.
“I have played [Halo] most of my life with my best friends growing up. Whenever we hop online we always end up playing it at some point.”
Strategy, RPG, Adventure, Survival

Probably Red Dead Redemption Two. Amazing storyline and great gameplay
