TEDxCincy gets an iPhone App to spread ideas worth spreading.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It all started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago and has since grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. These events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

When TEDxCincy appeared in Cincinnati this summer, Ample was tasked with designing and building an iPhone App to help connect the participants before, during and after the event. The app includes a pocket speaker’s guide and programming updates. It also harnessed the conversation on Twitter as it happened, to showcase the inspiration pouring out of the event. Later, when the videos of the speakers from this year’s conference were posted, the app displayed them in a mobile format so that the ideas will continue to spread.
